Default New Group N ROM

There is some great work going on with OpenECU, just like Tephra patches the Evo boys have got:

http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=26&t=7594

I'm testing it as I write, SD, CEL on Knock and ALS/LC using the rear window defrost switch is amazing!

ROM = Read only Memory, that is the type of memory that mapping data resides on in the ECU. The data stays in place even if power is lost (disonnect battery).

Should really be called EPROM I guess (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory).

Not enough room on Euro Bug ECU's and will only apply to Jap Blob and USA ECU's IIRC

Says it works on UK bug further down the page......

Verified ECU Compatibility
-Although this ROM should work with any ECU that uses the wrx02 flash method, this is a list of tested and verified compatibility.

* USDM 02-03 WRX
* EDM 01-02 WRX
* JDM 02-04 STI

Exactly Shaun,

I've got it on now, it's fantastic. Need to get your TGVs removed, although apparently the developer is writing code to control them...

No doubt I could have my anti lag unlocked on my ecu (its on there along with the launch control ) but its full blown anti lag and I dont want to rebuild my engine
This is the problem with OS mapping, someone will unlock something and say its good to use, the STI engine is different to the WRX engine in many ways (stronger components like the manifold etc) so I would be very very careful what you run on a WRX, grp N cars can be rebuilt quite happily after a few rally's, your road going car could be but 3k every 3k miles makes it out to be quite expensive
I would definately not be using the anti lag off a JDM Grp N ecu on a road car if you want to keep your engine in one piece.

Completely agree Tony, ALS is certainly not good on road cars (look at the EGTs when it's on ).

Tony,
The GRP N ROM that was made available on EcuTEK, was configurable from mild to wild on the ALS. I was using this 6yrs ago.

Is sd mapping better than maf based. Looks interesting if they get the full dual maps working would give some better tools for the openecu mappers.
