Newage fuel tank

Newage fuel tank
Does anyone know the size of the newage (Blob n/a Sport specifically if that makes a difference) fuel tank? I keep getting the impressions it's stupidly small compared to other cars. My friends say about getting 400-500 miles from a tank and filling their cars costs about £70.
I get 310 miles @ 33-35mpg before I chicken out and fill up, and 320 miles at a push.
Also, does anyone know how big the reserve is? My light came on this evening on the way home at 310 miles and I got home and it read 316 miles, and the needle is pretty much on the empty line. I work 20 miles away and always (99% of the time) fill up from one station as I know the petrol is good. I'm wondering if I have enough poke to get to work tomorrow and to the petrol station before I run out.
Speaking of reserves and fuel needles, does anyone elses play silly buggers? Aside from the 4 different quarters emptying at very differnt rates according to the needle, does anyone find the needle changing a lot when it's near empty? I was driving a while ago and I had the fuel light on and it was pretty much on the empty line, and a bit later the needle went up to almost a quarter of a tank. I wasnt doing lots of swerving or roundabouts, this is just almost straight driving.
Any help would be appreciated so I dont embarass myself. I have a coupld of petrol stations in town if need be
