Default STI V1 ECU Difference

Hi All, I have a STI V1 Jap import number 63/100

Had problems with my ECU failing a few months ago, I managed to buy an ECU of a guy on here, same ECU type SA

Its now all running, but not sure its running how it should be, looked inside my original ECU and found it is missing a chip compared to the replacement ECU..... Does any one know what this chip does??

Original ECU

Replacement ECU

Cheers

Kev

the sa ecu should have the chip in it from the factory the chip was a way of remapping the early ecus, what boost were you running before and what boost are you running now? as it may be the case that the original chipped board was swapped out for a standard one from a wrx.
