Diagnostic Port - 1995 Uk Turbo
Hi all
Sorry if this has been asked a million times. Does a 1995 Uk Turbo have a diagnostics port? If so where is it as the ABS light is showing on my dash and i need to see if anything comes up.
Cheers
David

Apparently mine doesnt have a plug as such that you put anything into, just a connector that i put a wire onto to read the code on the dash, but i cant find the connector so was hoping someone could post a pic so i could have a small chance in finding the correct connector.

yours does have a plug but not OBD2, the wires are up by the steering colomn and have usually been taped up by a alarm installer, if you need a picture to see what they look like google it.

Ok guys, been out playing today and still couldnt find the said cable and plug however another search on google directed me to another site and after reading i established there are two small black plugs that if i plug together will illuminate a 'check engine' light. I done this and the 'check engine' light illuminated one long and then one quick flash (or visa versa) which going by the link on this thread for the codes is the starting light so means there is no faults!? However i still have an ABS light illuminated, can anyone advise if the ABS is faulty as this doesnt seem to be my fault light - well not if i have a check engine light as well?
Any help gratefully received, i really need it MOT's tomorrow.
Thanks
David

It should be right down in the pedal well, under the steering column, there should be 2 green connectors there as well.
If pic doesnt work it's on this page http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...ontrolSolenoid

check your rear brake lights. if both bulbs are out it'll throw the ABS light
ABS faults do not show with the plugs under the steering column.
the "Check Engine Light" is a good clue that when it lights it involves the "Engine" and Engine only!

Look a bit harder for the black abs connector
It will be nearer the black and green for the check engine codes

Sorry to sound like a bumb ***, as well as the two black and two green somewhere under the steering column there is also another black connector just for the ABS?

not a fix but if you just want it to pass the mot then simply remove the abs bulb... i was told this by a friendly mot tester....
it will pass this year but not next year due to changes in the mot test procedures
it worked for me just 2 weeks ago... for safety though it needs fixing properly asap
