Power on a budget
Hey guys.
I'm fairly new to the subaru world. I've had my blob eye wrx for a couple months now and I want more power. I have a budget of around £1500. The car has a vortex afterburner backbox and an exedy clutch. I'm looking for some advice on what mods I should do to achieve the best gains.
Cheers, Shaun.

550 injectors , walbro pump ,de-cat the exhaust system , panel filter & re-map
anymore power after that, will require a new turbo .

My phones being a nuisance posting things twice. I was hoping for around 300-350 The vf30 seems a good shout. Are they quite laggy? Is the vf35 just a bigger turbo?

Difference between the VF30 and VF35,its only VF35 have smaller housing(P15) and VF30 have bigger housing(P18),which means VF30 have better top end like VF35.
Which turbo is best suited on WRX,i would suggest VF34,V35 or SC36,plus Walbro 255lph,550 cc injectors and full decat with Up pipe,TMIC vs FMIC-i would go with FMIC without the doubt, its future proof

i would go for a vf34/35, 35s are ususally cheaper though, better spool than a 34 but not quite as powerful, arent the vf30s a bit fragile these days considering they are quite old afaik

although upgraded brakes is always a good shout you still have to brake from the same speeds though ?? whether it does 0-60 in 2 seconds or 10 seconds ??? imprezas arnt exactly slugs in the first place ! so the brakes are ok as long as they are working ok and are not worn to much ? but they wont last as long as they once did

You don't need to spend money on an intercooler until you get to 350 bhp or beyond then go for an efficient front mount. You could also look out for an STi top mount from the same model year or close but you also need the undertray for it to work properly.
On your current turbo and injectors you will get in the direction of 290 bhp with ported headers and matched uppipe. To go beyond that needs another turbo such as VF35, VF34, TD05 18G

I've made a deal with a member on here for a vf35 and pink injectors. Just waiting on payment details. I'm just gathering everything I need just now and doing all the work in one go so I can have it mapped when I'm done. Slowly but surely

Update!
VF35, pink injectors, sti top mount purchased. Will be getting a full decat system, fuel pump, panel filter, 3 port, up-pipe and remap over the winter. Should be finished by january/february.

Exhaust wise, I cant decide what I want. The milltek system sounds really good but I cant make up my mind. It hasn't been mapped before, but I would be using Andy Forrest I reckon.

For the money they are fine, I had one simular on my UK300 some years ago, howevr prepare yourself for some elbow grease as it wont stay shiny as they are made from inferior grade stainless.
Best to look on here for a 2nd hand one mate, some good deals about.
Should get a good full 3" decat for £180 - £300 depending on your budget
