Which Plugs for 06 WRX 2.5L 350bhp??????
Hi,
My 06 2.5 WRX EJ25 Hawkeye is now running close to 350bhp. The only thing I never got round to when fitting all the bits before the remap were the plugs. Its still running the standard plugs at the moment.
I wanna change these for uprated now but just want to confirm which I need?
The 2.0L wrx/sti at that power level is reccomended to use the NGK PFR7B plugs, but I have been told that the 2.5L hawkeye uses different plugs.
The standard Hawkeye wrx plugs are the ILFR6B i believe, so would I need the ILFR7B version instead? If so, any ideas where to get these?
Any help would be great. Thanks. Andy

As suggested, the upgrade heat 7 plugs for the 2.5 wrx/sti 2006-07 should be ILFR7H NGK as per link below:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2504030299...84.m1423.l2649
Which would work out to £55 for a set. Cant really find these much cheaper online anywhere. Also, they are stated as plugs for Mitsubishi Evo, not scoob but sure they are ok.
Alternatively would the NGK Iridium 9 plugs (also uprated heat range 7) are listed on fleabay for the same car.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3703834239...84.m1423.l2649
They work out considerably cheaper at £32.25 for a set and still seem to be recommended as an upgrade for the car.
Which would be best?

Had a reply from the ebay seller JP4mance Tuning Parts about the iridium IX plugs.
The NGK plug supplied from the factory is ILFR6H (heat grade 6) which is an NGK part number. The brand of plug is NGK Laser Iridium.
The plug we’re selling here is LFR7AIX (heat grade 7) which is also an NGK part number. The brand is NGK iridium IX (Iridium Extreme). Its a direct replacement for the stock part but has a finer tip and tapered edge for a better spark and so it’s considered a performance upgrade. It’s cheaper because we buy in bulk... supply and demand that’s all. I run iridium IX on my own Impreza and rate them highly.
