Default Apexi ECU Help

Hiya... I``m having a wee bit of trouble with my Apexi PowerFC...

I have the Hand Commander with the Water Temp on view.

The past few days the Temp reading on the Commander has been going nuts.

It will change reading up and down, sometimes showing as low as -39.
When it does this, it affects accelration and tick-over. When it goes as low as -39, the car will just cut out... While its randomly reading different Temps, the car will splutter and just in general be a pig.

I have to pull over and turn my car off and start it it again, sometimes having to do this a fair number of times before it settles and I can drive as normal....

All the time the PowerFC is doing this...... The main dashboard Temp Guage is reading normal....

I`m hoping I`ve been able to explain what I`m meaning.

Any help as to what you think is going on would be great.... Thanks

Sounds like a faulty temp sensor. The ecu uses the info from the sensor to adjust fueling correctly dependent on the engine temperature. The gauge isn't affected as it uses a different sensor to measure with.

The 2 senders are on the funny shaped metal pipe that runs above the engine block under the inlet

Thanks for the replies...

I`ll have a look where you say the sensors are found in the morning... If they need replacing, are they easy to get hold of and replace myself. (I`m not really any sort of expert with messing under my bonnet) Usually let my trusted garage do my work. But if it`s easy, I`ll give it a go myself for a change..

Thanks for the photo of where to look...

I`m a pain, I know... I`m going to replace it, but where do I find where to buy.
I`ve searched Ebay and stopped there, cos the descriptions were 2 pin, 3 pin... I was lost..... I just don`t know..

If any help, My Version 1 Type-RA now has a Version 6 Type-RA Engine, and as in my title, an Apexi PowerFC ECU + Commander

Thanks in advance for any help and replies...

Phil
