Whiteline Drop Links noise
Hi All,
Car is MY98, fitted with Whiteline 22mm front sway bar and drop links (heavy duty). It always give me this annoying "clunk" noise when going through uneven road surfaces. Disconnect drop links, noise disappear. Drop links and sway bar bushing are all well lubricated. Any advice on how to get rid the annoying clunk noise? Have even tried tightening the drop links bolts. A buddy of mine told me that this is a common problem with this classic Rex.
Thanks.
Chan

Does you car have steel or alloy front wishbones fitted?
It is a known issue with third party solid links hence why many just keep OE ones or change the bushes on standard drop links. If you happen to have alloy lower wishbones then I believe there should be a spacing washer fitted in the correct place.

Hi Yamarashi,
Mine still with steel wishbones.
BTW, I wasnt aware that bushes in the standard drop links can be replaced. I supposed going back to standard drop links with uprated bushing will be a good option for me as my standard link bushes worn out. Appreciate if you can direct me to the website.
Thanks.

Depends on the type, if they are ball joint ones then no and I would just replace the whole thing as they are as uprated as they need to be by design, but if they are like the rear ones with a rubber bush then yes
