Default sparkplug gap

Ok people I've got new iridium sparkplugs one heatgrade colder than original for my03 wrx, I'm pretty sure they are pregapped but before I put them in at the weekend I thought id check the gap so what's your thoughts on what the gap should be the car is 330bhp I was thinking around 0.7

yep 0.7 as a rule of thumb, bob rawle recommends 0.65 at that level

I was curious as I've heard the iridium plugs have a bigger gap than platinum can u confirm this

I set the plug gap to .07 on my last Scoob, a MY 00 UK Classic with VF 35 etc, about 330 B.H.P and it misfired at around 70 m.p.h. on the motorway. Regapped to .65 and it was ok. Steve.

Did you really mean 0.07 or was it 0.70.

I also have an MY00 and will be checking the plug gap this weekend as it seems a little bit hesitant in mid range (though it hasn't had an oil change or air filter change for some 18 months - I bought it a couple of weeks ago).

hi all standard 00 uk classics are hesistant mid range due to the map unfortunately,ive set mine to 0.65mm too.

Only just got it so still learning how it all works. If I keep it I will put a remap on the shopping list. I'm rebuilding my Clio 172 ph1 hence bought for the meantime. No intention to hijack the OP
