Default idle control help

hi, car is a v3 sti, i have a idle control fault that keeps reappearing on the car i have cleaned it several times, tryed a second hand one (which was worse), only fault on the car is code 24,
i dont mind the light coming on but when it does the car seems to missfire on full throttle, its fine to drive on 3/4 throttle and performs as normal but on wot its missfiring and running mega lean, only when the check engine light is on.
this is really doing my head in, any info on why the would occur would be much appreciated.
cheers

The idle valve when open allows air to bypass the throttle body, if it sticks open it'll be allowing air in causing your enging to potentially run lean, that will cause the missfire/risk detonation/distruction etc

On a V3 STI I'd be suspicious of the air mass meter regardless of codes. I'm on my third in 4 years & never had any codes just poor running & Idling problems. However you may have an air leak or sticky dump valve.

Thanks guys , I don't know how the idle valve could be sticking , it's very clean and free , the dump valve could also be a possibility I suppose,
Cheers

Code 24 is short/open in ISC so might not be getting a good electrical feed?

Checked the feed , it was dead on , I have heard that if you remove the coil from the the spindle it can leave the valve very temperamental .

i have had the same problem for some time, only today has it come up with codes 23 and 24. im goin to purchase a new MAF as its my third used one, ive also changed the ICV twice cleaning all of them sufficiently, i.e making sure that once turned open it retracts shut. i will not be buying a new one of those tho, ridiculously priced.
go for a new MAF.
