Default JGM REMAP 2008 STI HATCH! 376bhp !WITH DYNO GRAPH!

Hi guys. Just thought id let everyone know about my experience with Simon from JGM. There are tuners........Then theres Simon!

I know there is some skeptisism over tuning the 2008 Hatch but in Simon hands i can trust we are all pretty much safe. That goes for you other scoobie guys aswell.

He turned up and started fiddling straight away which makes a change from you run of he mill tuner. He started the car and done a few checks to make sure the engine was healthy and changing a few things he wasn't happy with before he started pushing more power from it. Unlike most companies that would have tuned it without a care leaving me to pick up the peices if the worst was to happen.

We took the car out for a post map test to see what power it was already running.

After checking everything was ok after listening for knock etc with his magical ear phones strapped to my engine, Simon got onto mapping. Supprisingly it didn't take that long which was a result rather than having to muck around all day. He messed around with a few different maps till he was happy. We tested the car for a good few miles so he was double sure it was fine and i was happy with the way it drove. It now has a nice smooth progressive power but still with that scoobie bite that throws you into your seat.

My car went from a mere 292bhp and 292ft/lbs to an astonishing 376bhp and 400ft/lbs from just mere software. The car now pulls like a train and makes the bigger boy cars look like idiots. Iv owned a few scoobs now but never used JGM before. All i can say is his know how and software is doing something the others aren't. My car is running minimal boost but achieving great power output on the standard turbo and a few exhaust mods.

If anyone is looking for a remap and want a quick and easy time whilst achieving massive gains with minimal risk then give Simon a call. He offers so much and to your doorstep which is always a good thing considering peoples busy life styles now days.

All i can say is thanks to Simon for making my car, it was worth avery penny.

Cheers Simon.

heard very good things about simon, same goes for bob and duncan mind, but outside a certain few mappers i wouldnt let any1 anywhere near my car, the fact they flat out refuse in most cases to map over the power engine can safetly allow speaks volumes.
Ps never seen a black hatch with red wheels, looks strangely nice

I took my 2008 to Andy F & my experience sounds very similar to yours, with the same outcome. Totally love the car now and oll that was needed was an Induction kit (AEM) and exhaust (Revolutions own<Quiet>) and Andys magic

Installed my (new) exhaust today and now running far less boost. Obviously the pressures are a bit off and throwing the boost out. LuckilySimon is going to come back and sort it as he had a feling this would be an issue. Again a round of applaus for simon.

Default DYNO GRAPH

These are the dyno results from Just this exhaust compared to standard.

All Graphs and Tuning done by Simon From Jolly Green Monster.

Blue line is pre tune @ 292bhp and 293ft/lbs

Green line is after tune (Standard Exhaust) @ 355bhp and 388ft/lbs

Red line is after tune (Longlife Exhaust) @ 376bhp and 400ft/lbs

From mere mods and my new exhaust Simon has gained me 94bhp and 107ft/lbs!

Thats a boat load of power. Justanother reason to use Simon Guys.

Cheers.

I mapped it with no det what so ever and have increased the standard ecus knock control so ot will remove timing if it hears and det.

Its as safe as it can be map wise.

Highest one I have done on the dyno was 369bhp, but top mount does get hot there.

This was road mapped, cooler air shows a slightly higher figure on road.

i like the fact you say he makes sure hes happy with the car and engine before mapping. just out of pure interest whats the fee's incurred if the mapping wasnt able to take place?

Nothing.

If I had driven miles and couldnt map the car due to an issue then I might ask for fuel cost but driving a diesel daily driver at the moment so not much. Save my subaru driving for weekend fun these days.

Usually any issue I can sort there and then, lots of issues common on certain years whic can be sorted there and then. If there is a reason it cant be mapped or there is somethig that should be done before mapping it would only be a postponement of mapping until fixed.
No point mapping around a simple issue under the bonnet.

Thats very good of you, id always assumed that if the mapper wasnt happy and advised against mapping at that point then some sort of deposit fee would be lost - not that anyone wants to have a problem obviously but sometimes these things happen!

Thanks mate. Went red to be different does have a little thing about it that others haven't. I dont mind if people look atme funny though. Ha Ha.

Indeed the porsch isn't bad. lol. Its a C4S so goes and handles brilliantly. Not mine unfortunately its my dads. Iv driven it a few times but dont think there would be anything in them now apart from one being a fast tin can and the other 100K worth of machine. Ha Ha. Cant fault my car though. Best bang for your buck.
