Dodgy fuel?
A few weeks ago I filled my V3 STi up at the usual Tesco with 99 octane. Drove home and parked up for a few days.
I went out to see my parents and was horrified to see the CEL light on!!! I took it steady and checked everything when I got there but found nothing wrong.
After a couple of hours I was driving home and saw that the CEL light was off? It stayed off all the way home and the car drove absolutely fine.
A few days later I jumped in it to go shopping and there was the CEL light again!!! I drove carefully and ended up at a Scooby specialist to have it checked. It came up with fault 22, knocklink. The guy there told me what it probably was, take it off clean it and refit but also said it could have been a bad batch of fuel.
A few days later I was going near a Shell station so filled up with V-power, about half a tank. The damn light was on most of the way home but went out as usual after about 20 minutes or so driving.
Went over to my mothers to do the damn knocklink and the light never came on once?
I'm now convinced it was dodgy fuel which I have now boosted with Shell.
It seemed that when the car was fully warm there was no fault to show.
Your thoughts on this would be welcome.

Mate shell all the way (even though I didn't get a job working on supply chain management at their head office) lol. Its fuel you can trust.
Supermarket fuel seems cheaper quality, car doesn't seem as responsive and drinks a lot more.

Near Hereford. I have to drive 35 mile round trip for decent fuel so I fill up every time i'm near a decent garage.
The second nearest Shell garage is about a 50 mile round trip!!!
So you guys reckon my knocklink fault could probably be down to duff fuel?
