Hi i have a very annoying nosie under the bonnet of my wrx, its like a whining nosie coming from the alternator or power steering pump but cannot figure out which is the problem. the nosie is very load when driving and even louder when u put your foot down, louder then the rumble from the exhaust.

 

you can get surgery for that

 

LOL, have you tried loosening the aux belt(s) to see which is causing the prob? Could also be the PAS pump..........

 

Check the power steering reseviour and make sure there is enough fluid.

Sounds like the pump has died.

 

Hold a long bar on each component & listen through it, the loudest is the faulty one.

 

You sure you havent got into a mini by accident?

 

Also check the tensioner for the Aircon belt, mines past it and whines like a supercharger.
