Thumbs up advive needed

hey.
ive been getting the CEL come up every now and then, and its reading code 32 which is o2 sensor! this is on a 1996 wrx v limited! the cars in for its mot this weekend so was gonna get it sorted myself before it goes in. had the car on the ramps yesterday expecting to see the cat somewhere in the middle of the car with the sensor in.?? but the only place i could see a 'cat and sensor' is in the pipe before the turbo. is this right?
does this mean im gonna need to get a cat put in quick time before the mot? + the lambda lol
cheers!

no the issue is likely to be the lambda sensor which on a 96 should be behind the turbo in the downpipe..

the issue is o2 sensor not cat related.

92~95 it was in the headers before the air filter area.

96 onwards in the top of the downpipe, if it is decatted the downpipe would have the hole in the top but if the headers have the 02 sensor in they would just blank it.
