Hawkeye spluttering then dies...
Hey Guys,
The car is a 2006 WRX STi PPP with 15000 on the clock and no other mods.
Have not driven it much at all this year, the problem started approx 3-4 mths ago.....battery had gone flat so from memory I think I jumped it off my van, it coughed and spluttered all of about 100 yards and died. Long story short, ECU was not reading any faults, an car electrical specialist narrowed it down to the crank sensor, he dis and reconnected it and it was fine.
Having not used it since, I have encountered the same problem again. Would jump starting it be causing an issue or should I just get a new crank sensor and hope for the best?. If so, any recommendations on where I can pick one up?
Thanks
Nicky

It just gets worse...
Battery charged and put back in, disconnected crank sensor and re-connected and wouldn't start, repeated process with sensor then it did start but after a minute of running the rpm's starting becoming erratic, it popped and died.
Are these symptoms classic crank sensor? or something else?
Its driving me mad, can someone please cast some light on it?
Thanks
Nicky
