Default turbobosmart dv fitment advice

Hi peeps

Small amount of advice needed, basicly i bought this turbosmart supersonic dv just just b4 xmas and the seller told me it should fit fine as its universal and has the adapter plate ( in pic below ).

I have a 98/99 ver5 with the dv mounted to the tmic the dv was originally removed from a bug... i THINK i may have seen somewhere that some need a trumpet or i could be compleatly wrong, could someone please advise if it will fit ..

Many thanks ....

The adapter plate looks like it could be for a fmic, but don't quote me. My old turbosmart dv just bolted to my tmic with no worries but that's on a newage.

With my turbosmart it just bolted straight on to the tmic. Try it without the adaptor, by the looks of things your dump valve doesn't need it.

I don't think the plate is fmic related ... There would b no way to fix it to the pipework but could be wrong ...

You need an adaptor to fit it to your tmic as it is different to the bug.

Yes there should be a gasket between the two parts. I have a Blob but on your version you should have the straight tmic instead of the slanted one so it should fit the same.

adapter plate is for fitting to take off on a front mount pipe work
the dumpvalve you have there should just bolt straight to your intercooler

like this

Hi pete,

How's things ? hope u had a good Xmas

According to there sellers they do 1 for between:

97/00
&
o1/07

http://www.turbosmartonline.co.uk/?g...FcMMtAodp3YHmA

Any idea what the difference between the 2 is ? Surley the 97-00 will be mounted on the tmic same as the 01-07

Cheers

You need his kit to make it fit as the 2001+ intercooler is a deferent fitment.
