AFAIK there are suitable grommets on the bulkhead, one on the n/s which the aircon pipes go through if fitted, one low down near the clutch pedal on the o/s.
The usual way is to find your grommet, cut a slit in it with a sharp knife and poke a bit of semi rigid wire through from the engine compartment, with the gauge wires taped SECURELY to it, ensuring that any connectors on the wires are taped over to avoid damage.

Cheers / my only concern is the drift gauges with been digital have a decent size plug wich fits into the gauge / wich is why I hoped to guide thru from inside / to the engine - but finding the hole is goin to be very tricky this way - maybe if I remove the grommet altogether then cut it & re- incert after process ?
Do you think this way is workable ?

I'd do it as above, tape each one to your stiff wire at about 50mm intervals, poke through from the engine bay. It's what I've done for five defis, plus the live feed for a sub, and one for my rear wash-wipe.
Removing a grommet is quite easy...getting one back with the wires in place, isn't
