Best place for air filter
Ok at the moment my P1 has a K&N inner wing fitted, i need to replace the filter as it is seen better days. Just wondering if these are better than the ones fitted in the engine bay ?

Longer pipe run therefore theoretically more restriction however you do get colder air - also you can't get that big a filter in the inner wing.
Also avoid deep puddles!!!
I went for under bonnet with a cold air feed - my intake temps are pretty good I'm not a huge believer in the fact that inner wing filters give colder air as after the filter it has to pass through the Turbo which will heat it up then the intercooler to cool it back down again so I can't see a few degrees at the fiilter making a huge difference!

Good trick that's been mentioned on here that I can see working is to remove 6 to 8 inches of the rubber sealing strip on the bonnet above your headlight. It'll cut with a sharp knife then pop out of its clips, which means you'll have a gap above your headlight through which cold air will be forced into the filter's area when driving. I couldn't comment on water intake but I wouldn't imagine it'd be a problem
