MOT Warning meanings?
just decided to check up my scoobys old mot history on the net and found this..
Offside Rear Lower outer sill Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.3)
on the last mot, now im slightly worried as no1 i dont know wtf that means and number 2, there is a slight noise coming from the rear offside but i thought it was a wheel bearing, hope this isnt bad and hope some **** hasnt bodged it for the mot for a quick sale
if anyone can give me a guide what this means would be great!

it means the right hand rear outer sill was holed within 30cm of a suspension component,
if you look on the drivers side below the rear door i suggest you would see a patch of welding that has been done.
if may have been welded up,filled over and sprayed though if done at a bodyshop and not a local garage.

:O is that bad, is it something i should worry about, the car really is in nice condition its just "Offside Rear Lower outer sill Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.3)" sounds rather worrying to me! lol

if it has been repaired properly , then no it is nothing to worry about
like classicgc8 has stated , when the car went for mot it has failed on corrosion on the drivers rear area ( o/s/r ) that is near to a suspension , subframe , seatbelt or brake mounting point . they way it is worded makes some fails sounds worse than they are ,
if you are i little conserened you could take your car to your local garage and get them to have a look at it , to make sure the repair is up to a good standard
