I did mine Sunday n the previous 5 times, never disconnected the crank sensor, just drained, pre-filled the new filter, refitted n refilled with new oil, no problems what so ever but that's just me

for the past 4 years i have been servicing my type r and always disconnected the crank sensor no need to take the sensor out, crank the car while the sensor is disconnected until the oil pressure build uo then connect it back on and crank it.

Or keep the accelerator on the floorboards and crank, something about flood clearing stops the injectors......so I've heard.
