Default subaru classic 97 wrx turbo connector?

hi.

subaru wagon wrx classic 97 plate.

need some help here.

just below the intercooler there is a white plug on it saying abc! held on by 2 screws, i lifted it up and its like a magnet and i spindle in the middle, i noticed when you turn it left or right it adjusts the revs of the engine! what is this unit and whats its purpose please?
i think its the idle control vlave???? or throttle position sensor????????????

i have put it back on and put it back where it was, engine light came on, reset it but did start making the boost solanoid valve to start clicking on tickover! cleaned it out and put it back, have i adjusted something or what is it please?

look at engine face on, look under intercooler just below it on right slightly, white plug/block with abc on top of it!

thanks for your help please asap

I take it you mean under the Intercooler and not under the Oil Filter/Modine oil cooler.
Sounds like the Idle control valve to me.
