Default 1.2 bar vf22 actuator

Thinking about upgrading to a 1.2 bar actuator on my 98 type r with a vf22.
Does anyone know of any problems that may occur?
Cars standard btw.
Could I just straight swap it with no issues?
Cheers
Nick

Well, if you do this, the cracking of the w/g spring won't happen till 1.2 bar is reached, so you'll have a bit more boost, therefore power, over stock (as a comparison, I think the OEM target boost is around 1 bar?). So you'll have 0.2 bar extra. You'll have to get the boost cut moved to around 1.25 bar by an ECU expert.

I assume the reason for you doing this is to indeed make more boost, therefore power, as outlined above?

I would strongly recommend you get the AFRs checked over if you're gonna do this.

Or better still just get it remapped... In which case you won't have to replace the w/g for a higher rated one, as boost levels/boost cut point can be increased electronically via the ECU in the remap. It's the safest way.
