Default squeaking fan belt

Hi

Could someone please advise me how to tighten up the fan belt? The belt is not squeaking all the time, just first thing in morning for a few seconds or when it been stood for a couple of days!

I know theres a cover to remove, but do you turn the nut clockwise or anti clockwise

thanks

Will

fan belt, electric fans, so il assume you mean pas and alternator.

loosed bolt on alternator bracket to allow it to move, then looses bolt on adjuster. now tighten long adjuster bolt so belt has more tension, re-tighten alternator bolt and locking adjuster bolt. done

hope this helps, just remember to loosen alternator to bracket bolt, or you will snap adjust bolt.
