Default Engine light and over boost problem!

Morning everyone,

This morning I went to the shops and the car seemed fine, when I pulled up, the engine light came on and it started idling weird. It was bouncing between 1.5k and 2k revs so I decided not to turn it off and just get it back home as I was only about 15 minutes away from home.

On the way back after driving for about 5 minutes the light turned off and the idle went back to normal. I was on a nice safe strait bit of road and thought I'd put my foot down to check all was okay (maybe a bad idea but hey) and my car normally boosts at 0.8 bar but it went up to 1.5 before it bogged down so I let off and drove like a granny back to my house. When I got home there were still no engine light and the idle was fine.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? I've recently cleaned out the boost solenoid and all pipes going from it, and also recently fitted a boost gauge but all the pipes coming from these seem fine.

Also my accelerator sticks sometime, the pedal doesn't stick down but when sitting at a cruising speed it can stick anywhere between 3 - 4.5k until I put the clutch in and blip the throttle then it goes back to normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated sorry for the essay too haha

I've just check the engine code fault and it's code 24 according to scoobypedia it's

24 Idle Control System Malfunction
24 ISC Valve (Stick)
24 Open/Short in ISC Valve Circuit

What's the best way to sort these problems?

Thanks again

James

are you sure you got the pipe work connected correctly after cleaning them? you didn't remove or change any for new bits etc ?

Yeah all the pipe work was put back securely and all in the right positions. I might take the throttle body off and give it a good clean, see if that helps.
