Default Inlet Air Temp

Hey guys,
For no other reason then my overwhelming curiosity I want to find a way to monitor my inlet air temp...
Is there a gauge or device that's commonly used for this?

Thanks..

Aren`t inlet air temperature sensors incorporated into the MAF to read mass air flow? Or do you actually want to know for yourself what the temp is?

Air inlet temp gauge - prosport and many others do them. OR if you have Syvecs or similar just log the data and pull it off after the run.

Contact Harvey Smith, he will advise, or sell you one.

I have TWO: a cheapy, (it works well though) attached to the inlet air filter, and one of Harvey's plumbed into the intercooler pipework just before the throttle body.

I have one of these fitted.

Nice bit of kit that does what it says on the tin.

I have the sensor in the silicon pipe between the intercooler (top mount) and the throttle body.

That's the one I have.

The gauge itself is in place on the lower left of the instrument binnacle surround.

And it takes AGES to cut the hole

But it's very visible

i would have liked to see the probe before i bought it, apparently the cheap probes can break and fall into your engine, nice gauge though

I got two from the company below, nicely made, look good and cheap, the probe is nice and solid so no chance of it falling apart, I got a red one for before my chargecooler and a blue one for after.

first of all i had a ebay cheap version in mfmic just before the inlet, and one day it stoped reading the temp. i checked all the wires etc and they were all good. i then looked at the sensor and it was split in half, im gussing from the movement of the air passing over it. if it broke off, i dont think it would of done much good for the engine.

I have a dual sensor version that i got from harvey from here, and it is a r&b motorsport one. it is very very good.

I've fitted a fmic on my classic, can I move the temp sensor that went into the cold air inlet above the o/s headlight and fit it before the throttle body? I have a power fc so I presume it reads that sensor?
Cheers

If I have to pop the dash out I'll tweak it slightly but i'm fairly pleased with mine.

Unfortunately you may find that the probe wire is way too short to be useful if you want a guage on the dash and the sensor close to the throttle body.
I will see if I have some photographs of the guages I have for ACT.
