Default Timing Belt Guides - issues

is there issues with timing belt guides when you go to replace a timing belt?

ive got a blueprint timing belt kit coming for my car, an MY99 uk turbo but read somewhere about original timing belt guides (if original) eating the new timing belt?

Not heard of any issues - timing belt guides are adjustable and should be set to 1.50mm clearance.
Use locktite (or your preferred brand) on all guide bolts when setting the gap.
