Default o2 sensor positioning on 95 sti

hi all,
i recently moved the o2 sensor on my 95 sti to the down pipe (after the turbo) as this is where the new exhaust had the hole for it, i now have the o2 sensor code popped up and was wondering is it due to the o2 sensor being moved, or does it not matter where it is on the exhaust? your thoughts would be good, as im a bit confused, thanks phil.

Do an ECU reset and see if it comes back on.

If you don`t know how follow Jolly Green Monsters Guide.
http://www.jollygreenmonster.com/ecu.asp.htm

And the connectors.

Get a one from Subaru, I KNOW they are £70, but they have a limited life and the cheapies don`t last long and can cause more trouble that their worth and you`ll end up having to buy a new one.

not far, its just after the bend at the top.
70 istn so bad, i was looking at them on ebay and there 100, ill give themain dealer a ring see whats what.
ive seen an extension piece, it screws in first then screw the o2 sensor in that, making the o2 sensor further from the gases, could it be the bolt hole on the new exhaust is to flat and more sensor is in the exhaust, giving a wrong reading?

I`ve moved mine to there on my decat downpipe, and I`ve had no issues what so ever.
The sensor need to have its tip near to the gas flow.
