Default exhaust wrap

Hi peeps.

Was wondering what the best wire is to use to hold the wrap onto headers?
Have seen Harvey use this wire when he wraps his headers?
I have the bands for holding the wrap at each end.

Cheers Ade

The bands are useless and slack off due to expansion after a couple of heat cycles. Buy yourself a roll of lock wire & proper lockwire pliers as used in motorsport. You can get both together off EBay for not a lot of money.

Go with lockwire (or similar) and a proper set of pliers, just make sure it's stainless. OK it doesn't look as pretty to start with but after 3 moths yours will look the same and the lockstraps will have fallen off!

To give you an idea. I starting wrapping a 50mm od exhaust and 2 meters of wrap did about 300mm along the length.

You need loads! I applied mine from a bucket of cold water, apparently the wrap will shrink tighter when it drys.
