Default do i need a running in remap

type r v5
light weight fly wheel
rcm induction kit
full decat turbo back exhaust
up rated fuel pump
ecutek remap

thats my old spec but im getting rebuild

rcm 2.1 stroker kit
headers and up pipe
light weight pulley set, 3 of
and above spec
turbo and injectors stay the same till the engine is run in.

do i need a running in remap or can i run it off boost with the boost turned down

I would say you would need a base map just to be on the safe side.

in theroy the maf sensor will allow the ecu to see the extra air consumed by the 2.1 and fuel extra for it off boost safely.. however if the engine has been rebuilt because it blew then the cause of the failure might still be present (maf fault, injector problem) etc..
Also a lot has been removed and refitted in the engine bay, easy to have a vac hose connected wrong, or something very simple that could cause an issue.

With the cost of the rebuild it is well worth just making sure it is fine and safe to run in.

If you have the self discipline you could run it in STRICTLY off boost as in ZERO boost. That's what I did with mine
then fitted bigger injectors at
remap. Most are not able to do this so a running in map is the safest option.

okay so more likely oilling related so a tick in the right direction.. had you said a melted piston then that would deffo need further investigation
