tappy tappy
evening all,
ive just changed the gasket to iac valve on my 92 jdm wrx (iac located on left side of inlet manifold, not above throttle body). i left the car over night with the battery disconnected.
when i started the car and drove it to work i noticed a ticking/tapping sound that wasn't there before i changed the gasket. it sounds like it is coming from the rear of the engine on the drivers side. this sound increases in tempo as the revs increase but doesn't get louder. i can only describe it as sounding like an old ford cvh engine with the tappy tappets but more tinny.
any ideas anyone, as to what it might be?

Thanks for the reply Mick.
I went out today and had a good listen with the wooden handled screwdriver, seems it was coming from front drivers side.
After allowing it to run for a while and a short drive it cleared itself. i have put in some wynns hydraulic valve lifter now so hopefully it shouldn't happen again.
for a good diagnosis
