Question Advice needed on a 2001 Bugeye

Hi Guys, Noobie here so please don't bite

I'm finally able to forfil a dream and buy a Scooby. I'm looking at a 2001 Bugeye wagon. The car has done 118,000 miles but is an absolute minter, its history is as follows...

Servicing:

1054m 04/2001
7779m 09/2001
14400m 02/2002
21200m 09/2002
25600m 02/2003
32600m 09/2003
37800m 02/2004
45000m 08/2004
51000m 02/2005 - Timing belt changed
58300m 09/2005
64000m 02/2006
70900m 08/2006
77100m 03/2007
84200m 02/2008
91300m 02/2009
99400m 02/2010 - Timing belt changed again
107800m 02/2010
114000m 10/2011

Maintenance:

Alternator and air con belts/re-gas all done at 89800m 12/2008
New radiator 12/2009
Both Rocker cover gaskets and washers replaced 116500m on 12/2011
Brake pads and discs last replaced at 118000m on 03/2012

All done by Subaru main dealer and fully stamped up.

What other issues could I expect with a car of this age/mileage/service history or would the car be fairly sound going on the history???

Thanks in advance for any advice guys

Martin

Depending on price that could be a goodun - especially if totally std. Bare in mind all the suspension/bushes etc. will be 118K miles old and may be worth getting replaced, mine could do with doing on 70K!

Yup, totally bog std except a prodrive exhaust and the price is negotiable. What figure would I be looking at to do the suspension/brushes???

shock are around £150 a pair (KYB - who make the OE ones) Set of lowering springs would be around £150/200 (Eibach or Prodrive). Bush set will be around £300 (Flo-Flex or similar).

Labour will be quite high but couldn't say yet as I've not had mine done!

Sounds pretty good to me, If I got it for around £2000 I'd probably take it straight to a specialist and get a basic rebuild done (around £2000) and you've got a spot on car for around the £4k mark.

Why rebuild it........they are so detuned that not a lot of parts are stressed. Try offering 1995 and see what they say
