Hi all, iv got a 98 version 5 type r with a problem, it's got a lumpy idle and sometimes it won't even idle, just cuts out! It runs fine apart from it does not boost, it just splutters! Iv changed the maf sensor and checked all the boost pipes. Anyone any idea what this could be.
Any help would be appreciated rab

it's a sport
i'd take a look at the boost solenoid and the pipe that goes on the bottom, does sound like you have a pipe off or split, what turbo you running, some of the compressor housings are known for cracking and you could be losing boost pressure through that.
As for the idle, that could be the idle control valve, have you had the cambelt changed recently, could also be the cam sensor, id suggest you book it in with andy forest, or at least have a chat with him, as there are a few things that could cause the symptoms you have.
