Car runs perfectly until coming onto boost about 2600 rpm. It hesitates quite bad under drag.

I have changed and gapped plugs to 0.65.
Changed ht leads.
Checked hoses to turbo, bleed hoses to boost controller etc.
Used all fuel and refilled incase it was bad fuel.
Re set ecu.
Put original dump valve on.

Still doing it.

What do u guyss think i shud try next?? Really upsetting me lol thanks guys. Aaron

I havent changed this. Ive looked past the gauze and can see that the maf sensor still has the hair thimn wire in tacct.... Could it sill be malfunctioning and would a faulty maf cause it to run odd on boost? Thanks

the MAF can still be faulty regardless of physically looking OK and in tact.

The maf can cause alot of issues if faulty, including lean running and engine damage.
I would suggest looking on scoobypedia to see how to read the fault codes, not an expensive part but dont buy second hand.

Ok so u can check fault codes without a diagnostic.
I havent took it to a specialist as it only just started doing it. Ill googe fault codes see what i can find.

Might wack an maf sensor on it if they aint alot of money.

Search on here will tell you how to look at fault codes and what they mean.

Keep it off boost as much as possible in the meantime

Just done the search and quite impressed with how easy it LOOKS to read the codes i will try it tomorrow.
So even though i reset the ecu and the check engine light gave the all clear there may still be faults then???
Hope it pin points exactly what the prob is!
just seen in other posts that maf's cost 100ish is that for real??!!! Shocking lol.

Ok so ive done a diagnostic check on my ecu just and its flashing the all clear on ignition turn on. Could the maf still be playing up with no fault code shown??

If not what do u guys think??

the maf on the 99-00 impreza is fragile, wether it fixes the problem by replaceing it or not isnt too much to worry about,it will be £100 well spent, many people replace this maf every year as routine maintanence.
i would defo replace it regardless as if it is playing up it can kill your engine.a rebuild is not cheap.
dont forget once replaced ensure you reset ecu again. buy a brand new genuine subaru one,if it dosent fix it i would be getting it to a specialist!
