Default New age sti getting hot with TOYO SPORTS rad!!!!!

Hi all, when my newage sti rad broke I thought of upgrade to a alloy one as I do a few track days etc.
It was all fine before with the old rad but now after about 10 mins of hard driving on track the tempreture goes up to 3/4 which never done before even when red hot with the fans on in traffic.
So twice this has done it now as wanted to try cancel out dif things but keep Coming back to the rad.
When I fitted it I noticed slight imperfections in the outlets so I'm guessing under hard track driving the rad is not flowing 100% and causing over heat??!!
Anyone else had probs or any problems like this?
Do other alloy rad outlets look like this?
It's fine on road driving and steady track but hard hard track driving after 10 mins or So it gets hot.
Heres a few pics of the outlets on the rad

Many thanks
Chris

Looks like a good restriction to flow, although I have never looked in my std rad but all other rads I have looked at usually you can see the rows through the pipe connections that looks like a plate inside, never heard of toyo sports rads though, being from a ford background pro alloy is the manufacturer I have seen before.

I'm running a Mishimoto and temps stay rock steady no matter how its driven, although I have not done a track day.

On my Hawk Sti the A/C rad is in front of the coolant rad, is your A/C rad blocked with dead flies etc and restricting the airflow to the coolant rad ?

Not sure what to make of your pics, I never looked at mine in the same way so cant compare.

Thanks for the reply lads,I'm from a ford background originally and for the past 3 years till I just sold it I was running a saxo vts throttlebodied turbo track car so have a rough idea.
I found even Monday when I was at castle combe on track if I did a half pace lap with on off blasts it was Fine for how ever long but when I was playing cat and mouse with a friend in his evo 8, that's when it started to get Hot etc!!

As you were saying DT-SPD mines the same always stable half way tempreture unless this track prob occurs.
I'm thinking that it's because it's a cheap rad and for most people/ driving it's fine but I don't want the worry I track so prob a little lucky I keepy looking at the gauge.

That mishimoto rad you got is quality so I'm thinking it's either get one of those of a standard item.
Standard prob due to money!
Cheers again Chris

You sure you don't have an airlock?

Try draining it and refilling as specced on here, VERY s l o w l y.

Those imperfections don't look like owt to me, certainly not given the flow rate;

Thanks for all the replys, I've drained and re filled te system 3 times so sure of no air lock.
Ive read that the standard Subaru radiator is the one for the job as even used in the roger clark impreza so may just get one of them.
Cheers

Yeah the std rad is good at its job and certainly well proven. For me it was the horrible plastic end tanks that meant I had to go alloy.

Yeah I know what you mean about the plastic, with money how it is I'm gonna have to go genuine Subaru.
Any ideas how much they are and guessing local Subaru dealer??
Any info welcome!

I would agree with you 100% Alcazar, I have used race rads from a big uk company well renowned with similar pipework and they caused no issue.
