0.7 bar boost is not enough!
Morning all,
Not so long ago I installed a boost gauge in my STI to see what it's running at. After looking on here and seeing people running 0.9 - 1.1 safely on a classic I thought that my measly 0.7 is not enough. I knew the ECU has an ESL daughterboard on it but after speaking to Richard at ZEN he told me it's a "static" daughterboard and not mappable live, so I thought I'd do some research on my ecu and see why the boost is so low.
Here's what I found - http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...hread.php?t=78
I have a V5 ecu which is out of a wagon and only running 10.5 psi/0.7bar but the ecu must of been mapped with the ESL to run the mods I have - front mount, turbo back exhaust, TD05, HKS mushroom filter, walbro ect.
So my questions are
1. Can I buy an ECU that's right for my car and use the current ESL board so it knows my mods?
2. Can I buy the right ECU that's already mapped for the same mods as mine and just plug it in?
3. Should I just keep the ECU I have and just get an ESL live daughterboard put in?
Many thanks
James

Sounds all wrong to me bro, with those mods, lose that Wrx wagon ecu, get a Z4 have it live mapped you should be at a comfy 1bar with those mods, don't need anymore boost than that really,
Did u buy the car with all the mods done?

Yes mate, all the mods were on and all set up by the previous owner who I trust as he's my mates boss and was a mechanic for a Subaru specialist for about 9 years. The car is running fine with the mods due to the ESL it has, it's just running low boost and I'm starting to get bored of the power
