New to scoobs so bear with me......looking at getting a wrx bug. What's needed to get them to 320-340 hp?

Cooler plugs
Tb exhaust including decat up pipe
Panel filter
3 port boost solenoid
Walbro 255 pump
Vf34 or td05 or similar
Remap
Updated Sti cooler (is this required?)

Anything I've missed? I know the 5 spd box is the weakest link so I'll be staying within its limits

Why not spend the extra and get a sti , i understand they are more expensive but be a lot better in the long run , there is a lot of deals out there to be had at the moment .

Money is a bit tight at the moment after the birth of my son, so I'd be doing it in stages, plus I'd be doing most of the work (bar mapping, etc) myself which I enjoy doing

Your list is all that you need mate, you will need the Sti intercooler though. I have got it done on my bugeye and am running 340bhp

 

UK or JDM Bug? Have you owned a scooby before. With it in standard mode I dont see why you cant get 260-280 out of it without going with bigger mods. Would this not be enough power or do you really need 300+ ?

It will more than likely be a UK bug wrx.....one I'm looking at currently has mild mods (and some of what i have already listed) estimated at 260 ish.

I don't 'need' 260, hell i dont need 200, but I would like 300+ to satisfy the itch. Having had a 450hp Evo IX last year I need something with a bit of poke.

I'm well aware of the drivetrain, transmission and braking mods, just interested in what's needed to up the power & torque

 

How about Sti pink injectors? Whats the limit if the wrx ones?

 

Hi I have a 05 blob running 333 BHP by 340 LBFT torque and yes the intercooler is necessary also STI pink injectors are required . Who you planning to get it mapped by? Mine was done by Bob Rawle very good and respected mapper. Running a VF35 on mine although VF34 and TD05 very similar

 

310bhp if you are lucky but sti pink injectors are cheap enough to pick up second hand.

should see around 320bhp - some make more but 320 is about the norm

 

what power can the blob wrx intercooler take as its bigger than the classic sti 1?
