Well ive just purchased a 2001 Turbo 2000.
It has full Subaru history, Just had the cambelt, oils, plugs etc and seems to have had a fairly good life as it is still totally standard.
However on a previous UK turbo i had the car on the rollers when and the tester bailed at about 2500rpm and said it was a no goer.... I was somewhat surprised, as on my way to the Rolling road the car was going like a dream. Turned out the dreaded MAF was sha99ed.
Also on a trip home from Hockenheim in 2010 my friends car let go and that was a more serious case of detonation as it burnt a hole in a piston... :-(
Anyway... my question is..
Do i just change the MAF straight away or is it worth leaving it?
I did the ECU check, test thingy and pulled up no codes.
Worth while changing it or a waste of money?
