Default STi Engine Rebuild Query

Hi guys,

I have a STi V5 and previous owner has fitted a V3 engine and had it mapped to run, To me its an absolute shambles. I have all inlet and parts to fit but not heads!

I have struggled to find a good set of V5 STi heads complete. I have sourced a good pair of V6/7 BUG Sti heads but they have AVCS.

I know they fit but, Has anyone fitted them and not used the AVCS by eitha fitting the avcs camms but not wiring them up or even blanking them off and fitting V5 Cam Pulleys???

What do you guys recommend (p.s STi V5 heads idea out the window)

Any help appreciated.

Version 6 are the same or very similar to version 5, bug eyes are version 7 sort of as they stopped calling them version 1,2,3,4...ect. Bug eye have AVS on them, I think they will fit but it's not straight forward. I wouldn't have thought version 5 or 6 would have been too hard to get hold of.

I dont want to source another set, Unless someone willing to do trade.

These BUG heads must fit with little work to not use the avcs??

Anyone done this before??

AVCS heads should work fine in theory you just won't have the advance that AVCS should have. I would think without the wiring they will function as normal heads.
