Default GC8F48D Engine failure

Hi Guys
Need some advice on this

I bought a my99 wrx gc8f48d for next to nothing
the car is a import and has been badly treated
and has a bad set up
still has the limiter, vf22, yellow injectors, (not sure if these are standard) some crappy air intake and a bodged turbo back exhaust. Not sure if its mapped for uk fuel even.

The bottom end is a ej207 but failed
took the sump off and oil was multi coloured and full of grinded metal

I am not sure if i should rebuild, replacement engine or look at if i can drop a later version engine in

i need to know what turbo comes on this car and if the yellow injectors are standard aswell.

I ve come across v5 full engine without turbo, 349 bhp with dyno print for £800

Is it worth it? would it be better to rebuild or seek a replacement from maybe somebody on here?

Any ideas and help would be appreciated

Your code's 4th character would be C in that case.

needs to be completly stripped down to find out what damage is done. then you can decide what can and can't be used again, you may be able to salvage some parts or it may be scrap. no way to tell.

Stripped the block down
cylinder 3 has cracked and scored the wall badly
all cylinders look like they have suffered from det
prob due to not being mapped for the vf22 exhaust air intake and uk fuel.

not going to bother with the block will sell spares or repair
managed to get v5 engine for £750, the previous owner told me
that it has just been rebuilt with forged internals, dyno'd 349bhp and had done 491
miles and his vf34 give up. He has supplied invoices and paperwork for the work and dyno.
He decided then to brake the car

I am awaiting delivery of the engine and in the meantime want to purchase a stage 2 clutch kit, flywheel, fmic, tbe fuel pump and remap

Does anybody know of any quality suppliers reasonably priced for the above and also a quality mapper in the Manchester area??

Thanks in advance
