Default 00 classic not starting Help !!

I've been having issues getting my 00 classic to when it's cold I've changed the temp sensor (new)and the crank sender (second hand) I did have it running but it still wasn't firing as it normal dose there was a slight hesitation when turning over but this morning it wont start at all again so had to use the wife's car to get to work when i tried to start it after work it backfired but didn't start I checked the plugs and found that I'm not getting any spark i tried my spare ht leads and still have no joy there and way of checking the coil pack or is there any issues that can stop the coil pack from firing.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when the ignition is turned on?

You ARE keeping you foot completely clear of the throttle during cold starts aren't you?

Failure to do so will flood it, wet the plugs and could be the cause of the backfire.
