Best stock-mount turbo for ~340hp
I've been offered a VF28 locally and heard these are good fast spooling turbo's with plenty top end grunt - but is there a better second-hand stock-mount turbo?
I'm currently running a mitsi TD05H 16g and it's not too laggy but wondering if its worthwhile upgrading before my andy forrest remap?
Everything else in place and hoping my new lambda will solve my intermittent miss (or it wont be getting mapped full stop)

I have a vf43 on my bug, which is producing some VERY good figures, best £300 I spent!

VF28 excellent spooler... but likely to top out at 320-330.
VF34 would be my choice - similar spool-up and should break 340. Or be as near as dammit to it.

Stick with your 16g...Not worth the outlay swaping out turbos imo.

If you wanna do it any way vf34 or vf 35 should get you there or close.

The 16g will get you where you want to be. No real need to upgrade

Will the 16g have the spool-up or the top-end grunt?

I run an 18g so cant compare with the 16. I can compare with the vf35 as i used to run one. The 18g spools around 200rpm slower than the vf35. So very little in it

I've run both a 18G and a 16G and the bigger 18G does take a few more revs to get to 1 bar.......

As above, just stick with the 16g anyway.
They spool decently enough, and you will get close to 340, or as near as makes no difference.

That's what you would think tbh but everyone else who ran was about right or even low to expected HP. His torque fig was quite low btw
