right guys i done a code read and says 22 which is knock sensor but it has had on recently buy the previous owner so im confused lol is there any obvious reason why it would say knock sensor like somthing else that would bring that fault up cheers

Mmmm perhaps the knock sensor is faulty, but it may be an old code or perhaps the code has come up because your ECU is detecting knock. What fuel are you using & what mods have you got is it mapped etc?

Hi mate it got full exhaust system air filter and bailey dump valve all on it when i got it but like i say it got this loss of power and missfireing feeling underload I've done air flow meter and them checked codes and got the 22 knock sensor I done ecu reset but still same

Get it checked out properly!
If it's pulling up a knock sensor fault, then you need to sort that out. Don't believe that everything any previous owner has told you is true.
It could well be detting it's tit's off. Bye bye pistons if so.

hi mate just found this on the web i was rite lol
It allows the engine to run with the ignition timing as far advanced as possible. The computer will continue to advance the timing until the knock sensor detects pinging. At that point the computer retards the ignition timing just enough for the pinging to stop.
A knock sensor assures that you're getting as much power and fuel economy as is possible from your engine.
The knock sensor responds to spark knock caused by Pre-detonation of the Air/Fuel mixture. As the flame front moves out from the spark plug ignition point, pressure waves in the chamber crash into the piston or cylinder walls resulting in a sound known as a knock or ping. This is caused by using a fuel with a low octane rating, overheating, or over advanced timing. Sometimes it can be caused by hot carbon deposits on the piston or cylinder head that raise compression. A knock sensor is comprised of Piezoelectric materials; Crystals that when impacted, generate a voltage (same idea as a BBQ ignitor). This voltage is monitored by the computer, and when an irregularity is detected, the computer corrects timing in VVT (variable valve timing) engines, or triggers a DTC Diagnostic Trouble Code) in older vehicles.
HOPE IT HELPS!!!

maybe fuel pump, would get a well known mapper to check it over rather than play guess the faulty part as all parts work in sync together ie if the pump was failing and running weak could cause other senors to throw a cel light but not necessary the main fault
