Default engine change

evening guys looking at changing my sti engine this weekend due to the big end trying to bore its way out of the engine its a v3wrx sti import new engine is a wrx with sti bottom end new belts oil and water pump and steel head gaskets was running 260bhp with td04 turbo and wrx injectors am i best of swapping it straight over or swap the original heads aswell heads aswell im guessing it wont rev as high as my current sti engine 7k??? also can i swap my sti goodies to the new engine ie injectors turbo without any hassle are there any problems that crop up when changing an engine on a impreza? thanks in advance

really awkward to answer,

as in yes idealy would want to keep sti3 heads. but then new head gaskets, new cam seals, new inlet manifold gaskets, new crank seals, etc etc.

Prob best to have rebuild what you had. or was there hole in block?

thats my predicament all the work that has been done i'll need to do again, i was going to fit the sti turbo, inlet manifold, and injectors in the donor engine i need a quick temp fix im planning on rebuilding my current bottom end with acl bearings and some forged bits long term but need it on the rooad for work etc no holes in the block yet

well if plan rebuild then yes leave doner engine as is.

switch sti yellows, sti turbo and ecu somewat on track. and your choice re clutch and timing etc

clutch is exedy organic only done 7k so will use that as donor until rebuild aswell,what would you advise re timing? thanks

was thinking cosworth complete kit when i do the rebuild pref kevlar,ive got a polycarb crank pulley in the shed ready as im aware the standard ones wobble

and i meant re doner engine.



re build is all new idler pulleys and tensioner and cosworth/gates racing belt

donor engine has had new oil pump water pump and cambelt kit so its alright for belt,sorry thought you meant other 1
