Default Power Gains from 440cc Vs. 550cc for GC8?

Hi guys,

I 'm looking atpurchasing Power Enterprise 550cc injectors for my P1 (V6) and wanted to know if it's worth uprating from 440's to 550's, and what power difference I could potentially gain?

Current spec:
VF28,
440cc injectors
Walbro 255 f/p,
K&N panelfilter,
Un-equal lengthheaders ,a de-cat downpipe and a2.5" system without centre silencer.

Would I gain muchpower from the 550's as opposed to the 440's on the above set up? If so, wouldI need any other supporting modifications, or am I just wasting money for again of a couple of horses extra?

Will this be a drop in replacement or would I have anyissues with fitting i.e. buying correct connectors etc.?

Thanks

My car has made 366bhp on 440cc with FPR, 550cc would be a good idea to have if you are planning anything more then 320bhp beacuase it will have extra head room.

Thanks for that. So 550's will give me better scope for future modifications if I were to go for a bigger turbo etc.

The bigger injectors will not, in themslves, give more power. If you reach the stage where your actual power mods demand a fuelling level at the top end or beyond the scope of the existing injectors, you'll need the larger injectors to cope.

Ok, apart from the above, your engine is not the strongest so don't expect miracles from going to 550cc injectors, you wont be far off the top reliability with the VF28 turbo without a rebuild (then you have to look at other parts like everything else on the car )
At the moment, its not really worth you going beyond the 440's until you upgrade the turbo, then you have a realistic 350bhp max on that engine, its 13 years old now (MY99 car), so take that into consideration when modifying.
When you do modify, most go for a vf34/35/43/48 turbo, just note the above, gearbox will suffer, so will every thing else.

Tony

PS, i take it your car is already remapped?
