Default New hatch owner info needed please

Hi all I have just brought a 57 hatch wrx with ppp, and i have a few questions:

what is the hatch referred to like bug/blob/ hawk eye?

When I'm looking for upgrades like brake discs I am seeing 2001+ will this cover mine?

I cannot seem to find an air induction kit for it anyone know a good one?
Same for a BOV

Thanks in advance

Hatch is generally referred to as the hatch. However, I have seen it very occasionally called the shark eye, but like I said, not very often. When you search for upgrades, it's best to search for 08 upwards as there aren't many on an 07 plate.

There are loads of induction kits available by all the usual manufacturers; AEM, cosworth, Cobb, K&N, Blitz, etc. Same for BOVs (if you reeeeealllllyy want one). Like I said though, best off searching for 08 upwards.

Hope that helps.

Thanks that is really helpful. How about exhaurst. I'm shocked how quiet it is I know it's standard well pro drive but seriously.... What is the best sounding system out there for the hatch wrx. Can you still get a nice burble with the 2.5?

Can someone send me a link to a good site for inductions for it as I cannot seem to find one... I want a hks mushroom really

You really dont need an induction kit on this car, go for a good panel filter, if you go too big with the pipework then you will need a remap, and to be honest with you, most induction kits just suck in hot air.
BoV is another one of those things that can screw up your ecu, really dont do anything and can cause a bad idle/running issues in the extreme, may cause extra lag in certain cases.
You may be better off with a cat back exhaust or even a backbox, plus said panel fliter, much better for your car and the insurance may not rape you for those mods

Tony

PS, i see you have the ppp fitted? best not to mod with the HKS or the BoV, you should be ok with the panel filter and cat back though

A turbo back isnt recommended for PPP'd cars, it causes boost spikes which are not good for the engine
If you want more power then a remap is the way forward, that way you can have that decat exhaust (or sports cat for MOT friendly times ) and more power than the PPP offers.
