Open deck block bored to 2.1? With pics!
Evening all,
I was wondering if a wrx open deck block can be bored out (perhaps to a 2.1) I have some bore damage to a block and was thinking of grinding it out. Obviously new pistons will be required, my concern was if the block was strong enough.
This is the damage I'm trying to get rid of
Any (constructive ) comments welcome
Thanks, Rich.

You need rear thrust conversion to put ej257 crank in it which is needed for 2,1 stroker
Later blocks dont need to be converted as they are rear thrusted already but as you know the are not CDB

I doubt that would clear at the usual maximum plus 1mm overbore.
An open deck block is good for up to 450 bhp anyway if carefully put together.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Alan, thanks for posting. As someone who works with these day in, day out your opinion is valued.
The previous cdb was written off, I guess this replacement is a right off, so the search continues.
