Default 2 maf sensors in 2 weeks

Really annoyed now. I have had a new maf sensor fitted 2 weeks ago and now on my way home it's broke again. Is it possible the manual boost adjuster or dump valve has caused this? Going to fit a recirc soon as my new samco hose and recirc valve

replied in your other post

What year is your car?

Was both of the MAFs new?

Are you running an induction kit?

Mafs were new and it's a 2000 version 6 type r. I know they bad for them but surely they shouldn't be that bad. And no it's a standard air box just with a better filter that's all. Cheers

Maybe double check the filter is seated correctly in the air box and if its a oiled filter make sure its not soaking with oil. Check the plug connections to the MAF and make sure the terminals are clean and fit tight together.

As there are alot of fakes out there which do fail after a week.

Is it a CEL light thats telling you its the MAF btw?

Filter is seated and not soaking in all and all connections are as they should be.
Was a new maf sensor from asp up this way so I am sure he will know what he is selling.
I wouldn't mind changing it every 12 month but not every other week

Is it just running rough and your guessing its MAF or are you getting a CEL?

I hardly use the anti lag it comes with switch. If you had it on all the time it would destroy your engine. A had loads of bother with mafs until a fitted the simtek
