Ive been running without mine for well over a year. No neg affects at all. On the positive side the car feels and steers a little nicer. I track mine as well as beaing a road car so its had a good thrashing without the c frame on

The C frame came off my bug over a year ago because it was badly corroded. The car handles very well without it, arguably better than it did. It's passed two MOTs without the C frame and removing it has saved a lot of weight too, so win-win

Mine also rusted...
Iv been driving withut for about a month with no difference noted, maybe a little more forgiving less tramlining. Iv purchased a sparefrom a scrappy which I intend to put on the car, it gets VERY mucky with snow n ice in the winter...

>->->-> unless anyone can tell me of a method to reattach the undertray without the C frame???

The U frame doesn't hold the radiator in, nor does it alter the handling.

It is simply an additional crash protection system.

Ditch it is my advice, but if you plan on having a head on crash at some point keep it.
