Default PPP options

ok gents my 2.5 sti hawkeye is standard what do i need to bring it up to PPP level?

prodrive quote £1600 for the pack without fitting.....

as far as am aware its just a fuel pump, remap, intercooler hose and a back box...

If it were my car, I wouldn't bother with PPP (overrated)...

If you have a friendly MOTer, then:-

Full straight through decat d/p (much cheaper and freer flowing than a genuine PPP sportscat!)
Walbro 255 or HS342 fuel pump
Remap.

Not sure by which method a Hawk's OEM ECU can be remapped (EcuTek?), but if so, it will come to way less the 1.6k - even if you get the d/p and pump fitted by a specialist! More like south of a grand.

Get one of the mappers on here to do the remap and you'll get maximum bhp/lb ft/drivabilty with optimum saftey.

Okay then, what about a decent 100cell sportcat that is cheaper than a PPP one?!

Basically don't necessarily get hung up on the PPP hardware (if it means the PPP stuff is expensive), is all I'm saying ...

^^ totally agree, mine is the ppp version and it has all been taken back off lol, straight through exhaust ( can get these to be loud or quiet just ask them to put a resinator in there if you prefere the quiet route) new pannel filter and remap, car has made 345 bhp with just the bolt on mods, personally i agree with joz ppp is overrated especially when u can get much better power output, better delivery and the parts are cheaper and most of the time exceed the prodrive counterpart

It's not the presence or absence of a cat that makes it quiet or loud, that'll be things like the resonators in the exhaust. Try Mongoose or Revolution if you don't want it to be loud.

Decat/sports cat exhaust, filter, Ecutek map with Racerom will get you circa 350 bhp and 380-400lbs torque. Just make sure it's mapped by someone who knows what they're doing as Hawks with std pistons won't tolerate too much boost!

Although the above is perfectly true - i.e. it'll be the design of the back box that's chiefly responsible for the volume - a less restrictive d/p and/or centre section with fewer/no resonators, will add to the overall volume. Albeit not by as a greater degree as the design of the back box, alone.
