Default cam belt issues

iv put new headgaskets all on my engine

inlet manifold and everything back on and left cam belt till the end

now...

i can line the cams all up perfectly but cant seem to get it to rotate if the crank timing mark is in the right position

it almost looks a tooth out

with it set this way it rotates perfectly

i then put the crank pulley back a tooth on the belt so its where it should be on the timing marks but the engine locks up on the left inlet cam

so my question is...are the timing marks a bit hit and miss or do i have something drastically wrong here?

cheers

Default

just realised

iv been going by the mark on the face of the toothed crank pulley and iv just realised there is a timing mark on the crank sensor pick up to

so in actual fact i was 90 degrees out on the crank

im timing it up now so that the woodroth key is pointing in the 6 o clock position and the timing mark is at 12 o clock and that the other mark on the pulley corresponds with nothing

was starting to pull my hair out a bit haha
